Established in 2007, our winery in the Dry Creek Valley focuses on direct-to-consumer brands hand-crafted to showcase the best of Sonoma County.

Truett Hurst was created in 2007 from a small partnership of like-minded wine industry leaders and wine aficionados.  This partnership continues to focus on delivering the high-quality wines, ecological leadership, and warm, friendly atmosphere that were the founding principles of Truett Hurst.

Rooted in the rich agricultural traditions of Dry Creek Valley, our 26 acre estate of certified organic and Biodynamic vineyards and farm, creates a symbiotic dynamic that can be experienced in our wines.  Our farming ethos is to create a healthy and vibrant estate where our vines, our animals, our gardens and waterway, and our people, can thrive. Emphasis is placed on the integration of crops and livestock, recycling of nutrients, soil maintenance, and the health and well-being of the animals, the farmer, the farm, and the earth. All are integral parts that make up the whole.

Our wine portfolio offers a wide range of single vineyards and blends. We source fruit from our own estate as well as from a handful of local growers in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County and Mendocino County.

We are very proud of our friendly and hard-working team, who welcome our Club members and all of our guests as we do our own family. Our goal is to create wines that reflect the character of the vineyards that we farm and the people who make them- a true taste of place.

VML was born out of a passion to make world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  Leveraging years’ long relationships with growers throughout western Sonoma County, VML’s focus has always been on the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations and features single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from regenerative and organic vineyards.

The brand was introduced in 2009 within the Truett Hurst portfolio of wines, but has elevated itself to stand on its own.  We have always captured our customers’ imagination through our artistic representation of beauty, creativity and mystery of our local region through our winemaking and labels.  Our very first label – a steampunk Albrecht Durer mashup – conceptualizes winemaking as sorcery, with a magic circle filled with undulating initiates chanting incantations while surrounded by all manner of insects, flowers and astrological references.  It is an homage to the etheric forces at work in the vineyard.

Today the Tasting Room is nestled alongside the Truett Hurst estates and guests can enjoy a stroll through the Biodynamic gardens along the shores of Dry Creek.
